SCCA May Meeting:

Tour of Smyth Companies

Wednesday, May 22nd
8
:45 AM – 10:00 AM

  Smyth Co. | 2300 E 26th St

Have you driven by the corner of 26th Street and Minnehaha and wondered what happens inside that large brick building? Smyth Companies, LLC., one of the country’s top ten label and packaging printers, is a leading provider of high-impact decorative labels for consumer goods producers. Founded in St. Paul in 1877, Smyth is still headquartered there. Smyth opened their Seward location 35 years ago and it remains their largest label-making facility, at 75,000 SF. The plant employs 140 people and operates 24 hours a day, six days a week.

To stay in business and succeed in the label and package printing industry for over 140 years, Smyth has had to evolve – recognize and adopt the right technologies – while thriving as a truly innovative industry leader. Today they supply labels to top Fortune 500 companies as well as organizations of all sizes throughout the U.S. and internationally. Smyth prints over 4 billion labels per year as well as other products at 10 facilities spread across 6 states.

Join us for SCCA’s first ever tour of the Smyth Company facility. We’ll start the meeting with coffee and breakfast treats in their large meeting room then head behind-the-scenes to tour the plant. Smyth is especially interested in connecting with other businesses that are frustrated with the semi-truck parking issue. This will be an opportunity to network and discuss strategy.

Thank you!
