Welcome: Steady Tattoo!

Development in the Stadium Village neighborhood displaced Don Barton of Barton Player Piano 2012, and in 2013, Steady Tattoo was given notice that their home of over a decade was slated to be demolished for a new student apartment complex. Owner Alex Levine worked tirelessly for several months to identify a good location for their move, which was complicated by the way tattoo parlors tend to respect each others’ territories. Ultimately, Seward Redesign was able to carve out a brand new space for them at Franklin East, replacing the former back dining room of True Thai.

The shop is currently operating Wednesday through Sunday, from noon to 10pm. This will bring Franklin more alive after dark – providing new eyes on the street between 27th and 26th Aves S. Check out their website for examples of the type of work their artists do. My personal favorite from the site features what must be this person’s favorite breakfast:

Waffle!

Steady is loyal to their neighborhood, too – they offer discounts on merchandise to employees of area businesses, so check them out for all your jewelry needs!
