ArtiCulture Kickstarter for Seward Gateway Sculpture

ArtiCulture is looking for the last of their matching funds for their next big community art piece, after being awarded a Community Connections Grant in partnership with SNG and Redesign. The project is a 8′ tall structure shaped like a house, which will be covered with mosaic designed and built through a community process identifying what makes Seward home to those of us who live and work here. The artist that will be working with the community is Connie Cohen – you can click here to look at examples of her beautiful mosaics. The piece will be located in front of the fire station, welcoming people to the neighborhood from the west. ArtiCulture worked with youth and the rest of the neighborhood to create the photos and mural on the side of Seward Market after the homicides that happened there. That project was very healing to the neighborhood, and became a permanent part of Franklin Avenue’s identity.

Let’s step up as a business community to help ArtiCulture raise the remaining financing they need to get this new project up and running. The deadline for the kickstarter is August 18, so don’t delay! You can donate HERE. Please share this video with others you know in the neighborhood as well.
