In addition to the presentation on mental health issues in the workplace, January’s membership meeting will provide an opportunity to vote in elections for the SCCA Board of Directors! Here are brief bios for the candidates:
Jenny Larson, owner of Jennifer Larson Communications Design, will be running for reelection after 3 years on the board.
Jim Welna is the owner of Welna II Hardware. He has served on the SCCA Board since 1988, including 13 years as chair.
Rick Siewert, a long-time board member, is the owner of Siewert Cabinet and is also running for reelection.
Jennifer Anderberg, general manger of Pizza Luce, will be running for the first time. She is excited about getting more involved in Seward, and has a wide variety of skills from 15 years in restaurant management.
Jennifer Schoenzeit, manager of Zipp’s Liquors, is also running for the first time. Zipp’s has been an active contributor to non-profits and other community initiatives in Seward, and Jen is hoping to continue this through service on the SCCA board.
Haji Abdulcadir is also running for board membership after opening An Nuur Restaurant in the neighborhood earlier this year. Haji hosted the December member meeting at his restaurant, and he is very excited about getting involved with the Seward community after opening his business in the neighborhood earlier this year.
Emily Bell of Caption Max is also hoping to start board service this year, maintaining the business’s dedication to Seward and its business community.
