Facade Improvement Funds Available
Façade Improvement Program
Does your storefront have peeling paint? Need new signage or exterior light fixtures? Are your windows drafty in the winter? Hayat Salon used a Façade Improvement Program grant to install an attractive awning that makes their business more visible from the street. Redesign still has sufficient funds from the City of Minneapolis to help with a few more façade improvement projects this summer and fall. Eligible projects include:
- exterior painting
- re-siding
Seward Cafe
The Seward Café, at 2129 E Franklin Ave, is the oldest worker cooperative in Minneapolis. The Café has a long history in the Seward neighborhood and a rich tradition in community outreach. Seward Co-op 40th Anniversary
On August 4th, the Seward Co-op will be hosting their 40th anniversary celebration, and you are invited! The event will be held at the East River Flats from noon to 8:00 pm, there will be plenty of food, drink, music, and activities for people of all ages.

Kawazar Musse is the new project assistant intern here at Redesign. She will be working very closely with Renee Klitzke in helping to organize meetings, publish monthly newsletters and facilitate engagement between community members and businesses.
