On July 15th SCCA hosted a social event at Café Racer Kitchen (2929 E 25th St) to welcome new SCCA members and new Seward businesses. Café Racer began as a food truck and recently expanded into a restaurant/café in Seward. They serve delicious Latin American fusion cuisine and have a lovely patio and sidewalk seating.
We had a great turnout of over 30 people at the event, including several new businesses and SCCA members:
- Deborah Holm, General Manager of K’ul Chocolate (opening soon at 2211 E Franklin Ave
- Lawrence Tan and Peter Chen, owners of Encore Karaoke and Sushi Lounge (opening this fall in the old Verdant Tea space at 2111 E Franklin Ave)
- Mary Opila, co-owner of Encore Upholstery Studio (re-upholstering services, furniture repair and custom made pieces, located at 3800 E 26th St)
- Andrew Peterson, owner of Design Filter (architectural and furniture design firm officing in the Close Associates building at 3101 E Franklin)
- Carlos Landreau, owner of Landreau Insurance Agency (newly open for business at 2615 E Franklin Ave)
- Loren Mintz, owner of Cedar Box Company (founded in 1908 at 2012 Cedar Avenue and new SCCA member)
- Nick Firkus, Director of Crew2 (home remodeling specialists, Crew2 are long-time members and generous supporters of SCCA)
- Vicki Keck, owner of Ivy Arts Copy & Print (located in the Ivy Building at 2637 27th Ave S)
Thank you to all who attended the SCCA July Social, and special thanks to Luis and Christine Patino and the staff at Café Racer Kitchen for hosting this gathering!
