Steady Tattoo & Body Piercing moved to Seward in January of 2014. The studio has four resident tattoo artists with years of experience who provide tattoo designs to choose from or work with customers to design their own. Steady also features a large selection of quality body jewelry and a private piercing room where trained piercers use the latest in sterile piercing techniques. The staff is licensed by the State of Minnesota and maintains certification with the American Red Cross.

Back in 2001, Alex Levine opened up Axis Body Piercing within Steady Tattoo, then located in Stadium Village. In 2010, Alex bought the tattoo side of the business and dropped the name Axis. When their building was redeveloped into apartments, Steady Tattoo was forced to move.  Alex originally hoped to move into the former Viking Bar location on Riverside Avenue, but a new opportunity arose at 27^th and Franklin when True Thai Restaurant closed. Building owner Seward Redesign divided the restaurant space into two new units, hoping to recruit more sustainable businesses. Steady Tattoo & Body Piercing moved into one of the newly renovated spaces at 2621 East Franklin in the spring of 2014.

Alex loves having his business located in Seward. He says that the neighborhood has a great feel and loves the diversity it offers. In his past location, the clientele were mostly students, so he had very little business during the summer months. The Seward location offers a greater mix of year round customers.
