Every year, City Pages runs a ‘Best Of ‘ edition, highlighting Minneapolis’s best people, places, best, from ‘Best Tattoo Parlor’, to ‘Best Mural’, to ‘Best Restaurant for Peanut Butter’. It’s almost overwhelming how comprehensive AND accurate the listings are. This year, many Seward businesses made the list, as well as the neighborhood as a whole. The six categories: Arts & Entertainment, Food & Drink, People & Places, Shopping & Services, Sports & Recreation, and Readers Choice.
Seward community, eat your hearts out! With a diverse range of venues to enjoy a meal and beverage, Seward took the category for Best Food Neighborhood!! “There are the hidden gems like the Himalayan Restaurant, with its hot and hearty Nepalese, Tibetan, and Indian cuisine…” In addition to Seward being the best neighborhood to eat in, a number of specific restaurants were highlighted in categories of their own.
United Noodles won Best International Grocery, and it’s very own Uni Deli took the award for Best Kept Secret. With United Noodles’ Six Saturdays of Grilling events, hopefully the secret will get out. The recently-opened Sonora Grill wins Best Cheap Eats in Minneapolis, so if you’re dining on a budget that may be the spot for you. Best Ice Cream in Minneapolis was given to Sweet Science Ice Cream at Verdant Tea, which has been only growing over the past year! Finally, the Best Restaurant in Seward actually goes to a food truck. Chef Shack Ranch wins this award for its delicious barbeque selection and vegan-friendly dishes (we are in Seward).
Congratulations to Seward and all of its restaurants that make this community a great place to come break bread with friends and family!
