At our end-of-the-year SCCA celebration, SCCA businesses will have a great chance to check out a new neighborhood restaurant and sample a variety of flavors from around the world. An Nuur International restaurant, which features a dine-in restaurant and an adjacent banquet room that is used for weddings and other celebrations, was opened by owner Abdulcadir Haji earlier this year. Mr. Haji is a former Army veteran and has been a businessman all his life, including starting a number of ventures while living in Washington, D.C. An Nuur restaurant, his latest business, aims to provide a variety of cuisines at an affordable price. It’s not everywhere that you can find spaghetti and sandwiches next to traditional Somali rice and goat meat, and this is part of what makes Haji’s restaurant unique. He also provides drinks – including a delicious sweet tea with cardamom and cinnamon – and has a banquet hall that frequently hosts weddings and other celebrations at night. Mr. Haji is excited about getting involved with SCCA and the Seward community, and we are excited to have him in the neighborhood.
