Burglaries in the Area

According to the most recent report from the 3rd Precinct, there has been a series of burglaries in and near Seward over the past week. Between March 27 and March 29, six different businesses were targeted, and everything from copper pipes to electronics were reported missing. Burglaries occurred between 4:30pm and 7am, with the majority happening after dark. Most break ins were south of Lake Street, but two occurred in our neighborhood. Almost all of these incidents began with forced entry – either through prying a door open or breaking a window.

Let’s work together to keep our community safe! If you see suspicious activity, don’t hesitate to call 9-1-1. Much better to prevent a crime than to be too cautious. If you are concerned about the security of your own business, Shun Tillman, our neighborhood’s Crime Prevention Specialist, can come and do a safety review of your property for free.
